Caffélatex Strip Plus and Fat is available in the widths needed to fit most plus and fat wheels on the market.
Each kit consists of two Strips and two Caffélatex Tubeless Valve 40 mm (enough for tubeless conversion of two wheels):
The most suitable Strip, for each circle width
The six widths available are:
Plus S (40 mm): for rims with external section between 35 and 40 mm;
Plus M (45 mm): for rims with external section between 41 and 45 mm;
Plus L (50 mm): for rims with external section between 46 and 50 mm;
made of a special polymer, the Caffélatex Strip has very high tensile and drilling resistance. It is very chemically stable and does not deteriorate in an aqueous environment or in the presence of Caffélatex.
WARNING: The use of chemically aggressive or ammonia-containing sealants can lead to deterioration of the Caffélatex Strip and dangerous situations for the user.
We recommend only the use of the Caffélatex sealant or the Espresso can with the Caffélatex Strip.
Caffélatex Strip is the solution to convert very "difficult" rims into tubeless... as aluminum rims with a matte or carbon finish with traces of detacher, where no adhesive tape takes hold for long; circles with very deep channel and maybe asymmetrical drilling; first assembly rims with barbed and unsweeated joint.
To convert a circle to tubeless you just need to remove the standard para-nipples tape, choose the correct strip size (see above) and follow the five steps of the photo guide next to it:
In the technical video at the end of the page, everything is shown in the details.
Why propose the Strip when tubeless tape already exists?
For most applications tubeless conversion tape works great, as well as being an unbeatable solution in terms of weight.
A layer of our Caffélatex Tape weighs less than 10g per wheel, versus 30g on the Strip (but it's important to note that a regular tubeless butyl para-nipples weighs around 65g).
It must be said, however, that the correct application of adhesive tape takes time and a certain dexterity: the Strip is mounted in a couple of minutes and works without problems even with rims from the generally problematic conversion (with deep channels and /or with a particular profile).
Unlike adhesive tapes that remain inside the channel, the Strip climbs the inner walls of the rim channel and in some cases is visible when the tire is mounted. because?
The idea is to create the air tightness between the tire and the Strip, which is especially useful in the case of rims with an unswelded junction, more prone to air leaks even if the spokes holes are sealed.
In addition to ease of use, what is an advantage of the Strip over adhesive tapes?
One thing you can do with the Strip and not with tape is moving the Strip from circle to circle. Since the material that makes up the Strip is very durable, its life can exceed that of the circle on which it is mounted and be reused on a new circle.
The Strip is puncture resistant. because?
Being resistant to cuts and punctures, the Strip is not subject to the damage caused by tiling levers. Drilling resistance becomes relevant using the Strip with rims with through holes (Fat or Plus bicycles).
My rim has a Schrader valve hole (diameter 8.5 mm). Do I need to use a valve adapter?
The Strip easily converts schrader drilling rims into tubeless, without the need for adapters (simply use the provided tubeless valve and insert it into the Strip before mounting on the rim, as described above)
