We started the development of the Carogna double-sided tape with a very clear and ambitious goal: to create the best product ever for gluing tubulars in terms of ease, speed and reliability, closing the performance gap between the previous tapes and the putty in terms of temperature resistance and adhesive power.

Universal: Carogna has been tested and designed to work flawlessly with any rim (aluminum, carbon) and with any tubular (seamless, handmade, vulcanized), road or off-road (cyclocross, mountain bike).
Specific adhesive properties on rim and tubular: the double-sided tape has a different type of bonding on each side.
Semi-structural and removable on the side towards the rim: the adhesion is guaranteed by an industrial acrylic glue made so as to always remain on the tape even replacing the tubular. In this way the surface of the circle is perfect with each subsequent application. The acrylic glue has a very strong adhesion on both metals and carbon, without particular surface preparation.
Permanent on the side towards the tubular: there is a layer of 1 mm of permanent adhesive for underwater applications. This layer has the ability to adapt to the geometry of the tubular base once put under pressure, ensuring optimal contact and exceptional adherence. Moisture is not a problem for the adhesive (it retains its properties even if used underwater), which takes hold of the different materials with which tubulars are made (nylon, cotton) and on the different finishes (natural cotton or covered with neoprene).
Wide range of operating temperatures: once the tape has taken hold, even low temperature use (up to -40°C) is not a problem. The thermal resistance of all the materials used for the Carrion was a priority, and the results confirm this: the Carogna double-sided tape resists prolonged use (many hours) with temperatures up to 150 °C, surpassing even in this area the best chess and adhesive tapes.
Optimized adhesive surface: the adhesion is very strong and uniform over the entire circumference of the tubular, and is also uniform in a transverse direction over the entire width of the bonding surface. One of the problems of gluing with other double-sided tapes of tubulars with very pronounced seam is so brilliantly solved by Carogna.
Optimal use: the ideal temperature for the application of Carogna is between 21°C and 38°C, with 80% of the adhesive force reached after 8 hours. Applying Carogna in an environment with a temperature below 10°C is not recommended. We recommend cleaning surfaces with isopropyl alcohol.
Why "Carogna"?
In some Italian regions "Carogna" is the word used by insiders to indicate the tubular mastic... since the putty like the carrion has a very strong smell and it seems that, in ancient times, some adhesives were obtained from rotting carcasses. Compared to the traditional one, however, our "Carogna" glues quickly, cleanly and without bad smells!
